Ricochets

Galerie Eric Hahn

Paris

15 to 23 May 2014

"It is impossible for me to separate the work of painting and the history of painting."

Like a stone which, with each ricochet, seems to feed on the force of the water to rebound better in order to venture as far as possible, Claire Deniau carries this heritage within her and shares it throughout her inspiration.

In this spirit of filiation, once a year, the Emeric Hahn gallery, specializing in French and Italian paintings and drawings from the 17th to the 19th century, hosts an exhibition of contemporary art.

In this exhibition, Claire Deniau’s work is hung next to a selection of paintings from the gallery. Each painting, bounce to the next, linked by a shape or a colour. The multiple ricochet enhances the link between past and present.

Exhibition views only.

You can view the paintings, drawings and etchings on this website in Paintings 2015-2012, Paintings 2011-2009,
